The close of the social activities portion of NSXPO 2007 had us engage in Vehicle Dynamics driving sessions at the Transportation Research Center (TRC) located near the Honda plant. As a result of the strict security of the TRC due to testing of prototype vehicles, no cameras were allowed. Even cell phone cameras were covered with a special sticker that would sound a voice alarm in the security booth and identify the owner if it was removed. Well, not every camera was confiscated...........

One of the benefits of agreeing to take the group photo was that I was given clearance to shoot the day under the watchful eyes of several security escorts. The downside was that I had the only camera on site and it was over 90 degrees once again. Thanks to several kind members, I managed to take over 2000 photos while positioned out in the middle of the asphalt test course for almost 8 hours. A special thanks goes out to fellow Northeasterner Alan Offsie who used his considerable photo talents to help layout the group photo and agreed to fill in for me so that I could take a turn and then get a little break to avoid heatstroke. A big thank you goes out to all who helped me with the oppressive heat by bringing out a track chair, umbrella, gallons of liquids and towels soaked with ice water.
Because tomorrow is our first day at Mid-Ohio and I need to get some rest to be mentally ready, I will not be able to post a lot of photos of the day's events this evening. Those activities included a road course, skid pad car with outriggers and go kart course. Several of our members worked very hard to try to gain the distinction of being the King (or Queen) of the Cone Killers.
