The day started off as an atypical October morning in Buffalo, New York. Unlike last year in October when a blizzard dumped three feet of snow in the area knocking out power for 10 days, we were greeted by a 90 degree sunny day to begin the last leg of the trip to Ohio. We were met at our hotel by some of our neighbors to the north (that means Canada to those of you who may be Rand McNally challenged or who may be ex-contestants in the Miss South Carolina pageant) and our caravan began the 347 mile drive to our host hotel in Columbus.
We checked in and received our credentials as well as welcome gifts including a portfolio, wooden pen and pencil set and NSXPO 2007 calculator/pen set. Then it was time to partake in the the age old tradition of driving to our reserved parking area where the hoses were all set up for us to wash off the miles and get our rides in shape to be unveiled to the unsuspecting public who will be treated to 85+ NSXs driving in the surrounding towns.
We will need some energy to be able to keep pace with all of the activities planned so many of us populated the local steak houses before retiring to the rooms to get some rest for an 8:30 a.m. launch toward the Air Force Museum. It was great to see our friends from around the country who many of us only get to see at NSXPOs or communicate with through Prime. Even as we approach midnight many are still in the parking lot comparing notes on mods and seeing how the "competition" stacks up. We will have to wait for sunrise to find out who may have bragging rights as Best in Show this year....
