Our Friday dinner was at Lamborghini Ohio, the largest Lambo dealership in the United States. As we entered the dealership we were greeted by the owner and staff who were available to answer all of our questions. While we admired our Italian competition, we noticed that most of the inventory had special pricing just for the NSXCA that evening. Perhaps they had heard about the unexpected purchase made at Ray Laks Acura the other night..............
Following our dinner in the showroom, there was a drawing for some door prizes. The grand prize was a spirited ride in a Lambo and it was won by fellow New Yorker Dave Swartz. We all went outside to watch Dave be driven off by the owner of the dealership but we were surprised when the car was brought back because Dave was now the driver! He casually mentioned how he noticed that after shifting a couple of gears he thought he was going 80 mph but was actually in excess of 100.
After publicly congratulating while privately envying Dave, we headed back to the hotel where the late night shine and show contingent began another round of detailing under the stars. Saturday will bring on the battle of the egos in the annual Concours after which we will have our seminars while a separate shopping trip has been arranged for significant others looking to take a break from the car talk.
